Individual Therapy
Therapy That Helps You Move Forward
You may know something needs to change but aren't sure how to make it happen. Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety or depression, feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, facing a difficult transition, or finding that the ways you've been coping are no longer working.
Individual therapy offers a place to step away from the day-to-day pressures of life, identify what's keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies for moving forward.
My Approach
I believe therapy should be more than simply talking about your problems. While feeling heard and understood is essential, I also want our work together to help you create meaningful change in your everyday life.
My approach is integrative, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs, with TEAM-CBT as the foundation of much of my work. TEAM-CBT is an evidence-based form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that combines empathy with powerful techniques for changing the thoughts and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress.
Depending on what brings you to therapy, our work may include identifying thoughts and behaviors that contribute to anxiety or depression, challenging negative or self-defeating thinking, developing new coping and problem-solving strategies, changing behaviors that keep you stuck, and building on the strengths you already have.
When we're using TEAM-CBT, between-session practice is an essential part of the work. The skills we develop in therapy become most effective when they're practiced in everyday life, so we'll agree on specific exercises or assignments to help you apply what you're learning between sessions. In more supportive therapy, between-session work may be used more selectively, depending on your needs and goals.

What You Can Expect
We'll begin by identifying what you'd most like to change and establishing goals that are meaningful to you. From there, we'll work collaboratively to understand what's getting in the way and determine which strategies are most likely to help.
Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. Some people benefit from highly structured work with specific tools and exercises, while others need more space to process difficult experiences and emotions. We'll tailor our work to what you need while keeping sight of the changes you want to make.
